MaKayla's Victim Impact Statement to the Judge for the sentencing:
Dear Judge,
I want to tell you about how it affected my life. Well first of all I wanted a dad. Well the first time I saw him I was like Oh My God I finally get a dad! Well first when it was going on, when he was doing all that stuff to me my grades started slipping and I was doing really bad in school. Mainly in math and reading but mostly writing. Well after I told, things got a little out of control with me. My grades were bad and they could have gone better. I started back talking to my mom and had a really bad attitude. My grades were really bad even when I had to take the Prozac and lets not forget the cutting the wrist that was rough getting through. But then it got better, then I moved to 7th grade and grades were getting really good until my mom said, Hey court starts in a couple weeks. Well that’s when I got unglued and came undone. Grades went from a’s and b’s to I’s. I’s mean incomplete which means F and you still have to do the work to make it up.
Well just to let you know I would love to see Doug go to jail for more than three months, more like 5 years but that’s up to you. But honestly I would love to see him hang there in the court room. So there is my letter and I hope you make a better decision than what you thought before.
MaKayla Marr.
